Barcelona and Catalonia are the hub to many innovative Made in Spain shoes and accessories brands. The region is abuzz with business and culture. Barcelona, the capital, is considered to be the coolest city in Spain. This old Mediterranean port-town is known for its cutting edge fashion sense. As for shoes and other fashion accessories,  Barcelona-based footwear and accessories brands include Maians, Munich X, Beatriz Furest, Deux Souliers, and Agilis Barcelona. The giant globally known, but home grown retailers Custo Barcelona and Desigual offer their own signature shoes and accessories lines.

The Barcelona-based father and daughter-team run Xavier del Cerro jewelry workshop excels at original youthful designs. The designers’ creative use of colorful semi-precious and precious gemstones stands out especially. The workshop sells through several jewelry stores across Catalonia.

The luxury lingerie and swimwear designer Andrés Sardá also makes his home in the Catalonian capital. The leading fashion espadrille brand Castañer and a fellow espadrille maker Toni Pons are based in Girona, an hour and a half drive away from Barcelona.

The popular online espadrille store Espadrilles Barcelona always stocks the freshest selection of Toni Pons espadrilles. Castañer has three stores in Barcelona and suburbs. The famous espadrille store “La Manual Alpargatera” is located in the historical city center. It has been hand-crafting fashion espadrilles since the 1940s. The store is somewhat a landmark in Barcelona.
