A little while ago, through Twitter, I became aware of a brand new Spanish venture - Wappi ballerinas. The brand sells ballerina flats that you can customize online according to your taste, through an easy and fun process.
Both my sister and I are now members of the Pretty Ballerinas Club (not sure it exists, but no matter).
Last week I did not post a "Shoe of the Week", and not for lack of candidates, obviously. I've got so many, in fact, I have a hard time choosing.
Peach is a warm color - a promise of spring, which is timidly arriving in our snow kingdom of Canada. I saw these really cute peach ballet flats by the brand Penelope on YOOX.COM (at a great price, too). I think that they would go really well with my peach-colored sweater by Gigue.
Finally, I got an opportunity to wear my new pointy toe T-strap ballet flats by Mikaela. I got them on YOOX.COM and they were an incredible deal. I'm really fond of this brand. Mikaela specializes in casual shoes that have a very distinct charm - the type that makes the no fuss, put on in a hurry type of shoes a real pleasure to wear.
There are always so many shoes that I want to write about that we at the Spanishoegallery Blog decided that we would introduce a new series called "The Shoe of the Week". Our first Shoe of the Week is by the Madrid-based Defloresyfloreros - a company that specializes in ballet flats, but also makes boots and loafers. Their ballet flats are high quality, original, flirtatious, and gorgeous, each with its own distinct personality.
Pretty Ballerinas is one of the few Spanish companies with a strong presence in Canada. They have a store in Montreal's prestigious Westmount: 392 Victoria Ave, Westmount, QC. Happy Canada Day!
Some time ago I found out about a company called Las Bailarinas Shoes, which, as the title suggests, specializes in making ballet flats. Ballet flats are very popular nowadays and most brands have their "ballerina" lines. Spain is especially rich in those. It's hard to stand out in the "ballerina" world, but to me, the Elda, Alicante based Las Bailarinas Shoes definitely does.
