The highlight of Paloma Barceló Fall-Winter 16-17 collection is the herringbone style pattern in burgundy, a trend color this fall. I am not one to to bet on just one color (unless it's white), but I was seduced by the contrast between sleek calfskin and the dynamic visual beat of the herringbone pattern.
A few words about the "Red Shoe Movement", which I discovered through Twitter. Red Shoe Movement is an organization that helps women realize their ambitions in the corporate world. The highlight is on Hispanic women, who are widely present in the North American workforce, but the advice is pretty universal. By working with the employers to make the corporate world a better place for Latina women, the "Red Shoe Movement" is making change happen for all women. It's a win-win situation.
Like all Art Shoes, the "Rio" pump is lined with a luxurious cushy micro-fiber insole, which is great for walking. It's not just the insole though. I think that the whole shoe is built in such a way that legs and feet don't suffer. You know the feeling when you take off high heels and your feet go "Aww...."? Well, it wasn't there. There was nothing to get relief from. It was all good. Enough to make a girl dreamy:)
An "Ultimate Shoedown" is every girl's fantasy. Imagine being surrounded by a group of luxury shoe designers each clutching a pair of their prettiest heels, eager for you to accept them. The stuff of dreams, right? Well, just such a party is a yearly occurrence in the Spanish shoemaking center of Elda. Every year since 1999 the Elda Shoe Museum (and store) convenes a panel of shoe industry, media and arts personalities. Their task - to choose "The Woman with the Best Shoes".
Designer high heels differ from regular high heels in much more than price. The ones that are truly exceptional mirror the identity of their creator. This is definitely the case with the luxury designer shoes and accessories brand of Sara Navarro.
This Shoe of the Week, code-named the "Rose Quartz" sandal, was made by the Spanish CX label from Petrer, Alicante. The "Rose Quartz" sandal is sought after for formal events like weddings and first communions, but it also works very well with a more relaxed feminine style. It is very convenient that the sandal comes in three different heights. Comfort without sacrificing style is the mantra of all Spanish shoemakers.
The Fair of Seville is a big dress up party, as the city celebrates its living flamenco and gypsy heritage. It helps if you know how to dance the famous "Sevillanas" dance. Or you can just hang out and drink copious amount of wine in one of the many beautifully decorated tents ("casetas"). One of the greatest things for me is to observe the gorgeous outfits and accessories that you see the ladies wearing. In fact, I was so psyched that I came up with the "Rose of Seville" challenge.
Fascination with white shoes has been with me for a long time. Independent of bridal fantasies, I think that there is something about white shoes that is dear to a girl's heart. It may be the promise of summer romance, of carefree time, of dancing....
