Audley from Elda

Audley Shoes sounds English, because it is: the head designers of Audley, Tim and Fiona Slack, have been making shoes in the "British revival" style in London since the 1970s. In 1988 the couple came to Elda, Spain and founded Audley, merging their eclectic, modernist architecture-inspired designs with fine Spanish craftsmanship.

Shoe of the Week: Pons Quintana

So happy to see this slingback pump, skillfully woven from strands of leather using a proprietary technique at the Pons Quintana workshops in Alaior, Menorca, available at YOOX. Pons Quintana's woven creations, which are so delicate and yet so securely built, sell out very fast and more often than not there is not stock left over to give to YOOX for sale in North America. In a few stores here in Toronto that do carry Pons Quintana they are also a rare sight.

Shoe of the Week: Chie Mihara Wedding

I know, I know. Again with the Chie Mihara. But what I am to do? Chie's creations just blow my mind, even if they are often not my style. This week I'm presenting two versions of the same shoe from the Chie Mihara wedding collection, currently available to buy from the Chie Mihara official website. I'm not addicted to weddings and I'm not about to get married, but when I saw these....

Shoe of the Week: Chie Mihara “Camelia”

Once again, a Chie Mihara is back as our Shoe of the Week. The light-yellow "Camelia" sling-back open toe sandal is from Chie Mihara's SS14 collection and it is available at YOOX in size 8 for $209US. Interestingly, the "Camelia" in coral pink is still available to buy from Chie Mihara's official online shop in European sizes 36 (US 5-6) and 40 (US 9-9.5) for the price of 234 Euros. I guess if you've got a good thing that sells it doesn't matter what season it is from.

Parade of Nudes

Since nude legs are about to start flashing their different tones on the streets of Toronto, as they have already been in cities where winter has receded long ago, Spanishoegallery would like to present a selection of Made in Spain "nudes".

Shoe of the Week: Audley

Audley shoes have a very distinct style, which I've seen described as being influenced by Bauhaus - a German art movement from the beginning of the 20th century. Bauhaus is very well-known for its fusion of art and industry, crafts and fine arts.

Shoe of the Week: LODI (again)

This week I chose this pink sandal by LODI, because it is the first studded high-heel sandal that really did it for me. Many a studded sandal made their appearance over the last couple of years, most notably ones by Valentino, and other good brands, Spanish included (Lola Cruz had a number of models in the style), but to my eyes, none achieved the harmony of this version by LODI.

Shoe of the Week: LODI

Regardless of whether you are married or not, planning on it or absolutely not into the whole thing, I think that these bridal booties will touch your heart. From the hand-crafted grade embroidery, to the satin laces ending in a pretty bow, and down to the flirty peep-toes, they definitely possess that "ahhh" quality.
