Kitten Heel Appeal

Now, we know that kittens are very popular, especially those from Youtube. When it comes to shoes, kitten heel is very appealing as well. Kitten heel is moderately low – ranging from 3 to 6 cm (1.2” to 2.4”), usually combined with pointy toe styles. Overall, it is very feminine and decisively on the pretty side. I think that kitten heels are a lot of fun and a good way of wearing heels without the pain that often goes with it.

I’ve noticed recently a proliferation of these kinds of shoes among Spanish brands that I follow. Below is a sampling from four brands: Pura LópezPedro García, Sacha London, and Paco Herrero, all of them currently sold on YOOX.COM (the images are linked to the YOOX website, so if you like a model, click on the image to see whether your size is available). I have to mention that most are being sold at amazing discounts.

The first and spectacular kitten heel pump is from Sacha London, in patent leather, and partially open on the inner side. Super elegant and the color is striking.

Dark brown classic kitten heel pump by Pura López – the Spanish queen of high heels. Pura López is not only known for its dramatically high heels (even this kitten heel is 2.4”, so on the tall end), but also for its high quality. I really hope to own a Pura López pair one day. Their sizing is on the smaller side, so be careful when ordering.

A very attractive creamy pastel-colored patent leather kitten heel pump by Pedro García. Note the small slit in the front, a Pedro García signature feature. Rare model for this high-end brand – they usually do chunky high heels and high wedges. I personally adore this pair. It makes me think of custard! They would go amazingly with any office outfit.

These kitten heels by Sacha London are also very cute in their pink-beige pastel tones. They look like they are designed for a rather narrow foot though.

Suede kitten-heel boots by Paco Herrero – absolutely gorgeous. Too bad my size is not available. So elegant in their black suede, with their decorative-looking seems. The heel is, of course, thicker than a pump heel would be, but the moderate height and the characteristic shape still put them into kitten category, as far as I am concerned.

Dainty T-strap kitten heel sandals, very stylish in their grey and silver patent leather by Sacha London.

And finally, in soft grainy leather, these pointy toe kitten heel sling-backs in metallic gold by Sacha London.

So, will you give kitten heels more thought now?
