One more summer sale I absolutely had to cover is by another Made in Spain brand I adore: Paloma Barceló. This sale has some parallels with the Castañer summer sale, which I just covered here. In the course of the past year, both companies have revamped their websites to improve the online shopping experience. As far as I can tell, they also increased their inventory and introduced greater discounts. It may have something to do with the better economic situation in Spain and consequently with easier access to financing for the companies’ exporting needs. Whatever the reason, we, the consumers, are the winners.
I want to start with the “Lauranne” flat T-strap espadrille sandal made almost entirely out of black macrame – a form of textile created by knotting, as opposed to weaving or knitting. The effect is beautiful and very resilient. The current trend for the handmade aesthetic and ecologically responsible production makes this espadrille a very coveted object. What is more, it is not too expensive: “Lauranne” is on sale for under 100 Euros. Only size 36 is left, which, of course, is a clear indication of its popularity.
Here is the signature “architectural” wedge version of the same espadrille, available at FARFETCH, with which this blog is affiliated:
This wedge is spectacular with its beautiful 13.5 cm (5.3″) jute heel and 4 cm (1.6”) platform. The jute layers are a distinct visual feature of their own. The insole is made out of leather. The gold metallic company logo badge hugs the back of the heel, just above its rubber tip. Only one size is left – to purchase this wedge click on the pictures.
This “Jade” white leather mule with pure minimalistic finish has beautiful, gently curving lines. The white leather has a thin layer of golden material (another signature Paloma Barceló feature) separating it from the high cork sole. These mules are currently 30% off on the Paloma Barceló website.
The “Daniela” sandal boasts another typical Paloma Barceló feature – an extra-wide ankle strap and a layered three color jute and rubber platform. The upper and the insole are made out of smooth fine-grained leather. The sandal is currently priced at under 100 Euros and is available in sizes 37 and 41.
The “Loriane” espadrille sneaker is made out of exquisite taupe suede. It has a leather insole and a thin rubber sole complete with the golden logo badge at the back. Amazingly, it is on sale under 60 Euros. Four sizes are still available.
“Zoé” – a shiny black leather espadrille with a signature extra-wide ankle strap looks very neat lifted off the surface by its striking sewn jute platform traversed by two bright red seams and finished with a thin rubber sole. “Zoé” is also on sale for under 70 Euros.
And finally, FARFETCH is currently offering a final clearing sale (plus 30% off) on this mind-blowing high-heeled peep-toe suede espadrille sandal, available in red and grass green. As for the visual effect, the gorgeous suede is in heavy competition with the gold and natural colored braided jute of the platform and heel. To purchase, click on the images.
I hope that you will use this opportunity to get your very own Paloma Barceló!
