Shoe Of The Week: Castañer

Castañer is one of my favorite “Made in Spain” firms. This winter’s collection is an homage to Parisian fashion and style. The large weft and warp pattern of this “Marigold” ankle boot reminds me of Chanel suits. This weaving technique creates a wonderful texture. The abstract pattern of the leather used on the heel, the pointy toe, and in the piping adds extra sophistication. This boot is currently on sale at 140 Euros at the Castañer website.

This unusual boot stands out because of the audacious and effective clash of two different patterns: the natural colored weft and black warp regular wool pattern and the abstract white-on-black leather pattern.

The mid-height conical heel is covered with the same white-on-black abstract leather pattern.
